I've never tried it, but apparently zucchini (and all other squash) blossoms are edible, either with petals torn up in a salad, or for the really adventurous, fried in tempura batter.
You won't lose anything by picking these blossoms -- they're all male. You can tell by the skinny stems (and now that one's opened, by the pollen inside!). Female blossoms have "stems" made of the miniature, unfertilized zucchini fruit. When you see those, you can really get excited!
