Fertiliser

I fertilised yesterday.  Today, everything is huge!

I realise I'd forgotten to mention what kind of fertiliser I'm using.  It's actually Plant Starter by Liquid Growth.  It has the words "organic" on the label, but doesn't market itself as "organic".  I wonder what's up with that?

Product Description:
  • Eco-friendly and premium quality liquid plant food for use indoors
  • Contains proprietary blend of organic components, chelated trace minerals and the highest concentrated humates of any liquid plant food
  • Made with food grade ingredients - no heavy metals, contaminants or salts present
  • Easy-to-use pump dispenser; one pump of liquid plant starter requires 1 L of water (one pump = 2 mL)
  • Helps build strong roots and prepares plants for transplanting
  • 5-20-5 formulation
  • 725 mL container
I like that it's got chelated trace minerals ("chelated" means claw-shaped, which is supposed to be better for plant usage.  I'm new to this and won't make any claims about its effectiveness).  I also like that the pump mechanism automatically measures out the correct amount needed for 1L of water.  Well-developed product!  Good job, Liquid Growth!

I plan to fertilise once every two weeks, but today I goofed and SOMEHOW FORGOT that I'd fertilised yesterday.  Oops...  I hope my babies will be allright!

Flower Count

This is more of an estimate than a count, as I haven't thinned them all out yet, so still have some tiny or unhealthy ones lurking about.

Agastache Cana:  17
Marigold:  16
Cosmo - Candy Stripe:  4
Cosmo - Early: 12
Bee Balm:  9

Photos!

This Tomato seedling still has the seed shell attached to its leaves!  Hopefully it will pop off soon!

Broccoli are looking much better than yesterday.  Some are still wobbly and spread-eagled, and having difficulty staying upright.  I'm not too concerned about that.  I'm more concerned that one of them pinched a cotyledon stem and one has lost a true leaf.  We'll see how those turn out...  Also put a CD in the background for size reference.  They're getting big!

The calendula are HUGE!

Butternut: HUGE!

Zucchini:  HUGE!!  I wanted to put something beside them for size comparison, but didn't have anything good (besides that CD).  I considered putting my foot in the picture, but I didn't want to attract the wrong attention :)

Snow peas are getting tall, will train them on dowels and set outside soon...

True leaves on parsley.  Aren't they cute together?

Cosmos - Early Sensation: very spindly!

Cherry Tomato - Hybrid: located at a far end, don't receive much light...

Sun Sugar cherry tomatoes and regular tomatoes: look how vigorously they're growing!

Snap peas.  Slow growers, these guys...

Purple basil: true leaves are getting on their way!

I forgot to get a picture of it, but the zucchini with the yellowing leaves has gotten yellower, sadly.  Will continue to monitor.

Also forgot to get a picture of the new pumpkin seedling.  It's adorable!
